Responsible Conduct of 研究

The Hamel Center expects you to conduct research with integrity and respect for the standards of ethical and professional behavior. Academic and financial fraud (which includes data fabrication or falsification and theft of materials, 供应, 或想法), 剽窃, or deliberate interference with the integrity of the work of others is not acceptable.

UNH is accountable to ensure the ethical and safe conduct of research and scholarly activity. All researchers at UNH who propose to conduct research involving any of the following must obtain appropriate institutional approvals and/or permission BEFORE starting the research. 学生 who seek funding for their research projects are subject to UNH's review and approval requirements.

The UNH Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for protecting the rights and welfare of people who are the subjects of UNH research activities.  Before involving human subjects in any research activities (e.g. 面试, 调查, 调查问卷), 学生必须写, unconditional approval from the IRB for the study.

The UNH Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for ensuring the proper care, 使用, and humane treatment of vertebrate animals 使用d in research at UNH. Before using vertebrate animals in any research activities, 学生必须写, unconditional approval from the IACUC for the study.

Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules

UNH has established an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) comprised of specialists in molecular biology, 微生物学, 植物生物学, 法规与安全, as well as community representatives, to ensure compliance with the NIH Guidelines for 研究 Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules. 研究 and academic activities that utilize biohazardous materials must be registered with the IBC prior to commencing.  Contact the Biological Safety Officer at 862-0197 for more information about registering a protocol, risk assessment and training requirements.
